Projects Driving Entrepreneurial Development in Samarkand

Supporting entrepreneurship, expanding production capacity, and ensuring employment remain among the key priorities of Uzbekistan’s economic policy. In this regard, JSCB Uzsanoatqurilishbank (SQB) places special emphasis on financing promising projects in the regions, launching new enterprises, and expanding existing production facilities.

In particular, the Bank is consistently supporting business entities operating in the manufacturing and service sectors across the Samarkand region. As a result, new jobs are being created, export potential is increasing, and a significant contribution is being made to the sustainable development of the regional economy.

In 2025, more than UZS 968 billion in loans were allocated to finance over 150 entrepreneurial projects in the region. As of June 1, 2026, nearly UZS 94 billion had been provided to around 50 business entities. These projects have enabled the creation of more than 170 new jobs and generated additional income opportunities for the local population.

One of the successful projects supported by the Bank is YEC GILAM LLC, operating in the city of Samarkand. The company specializes in the production of carpets and carpet-related products and received financial support from SQB to expand its manufacturing capacity.

With the Bank’s assistance, the company acquired modern production equipment and significantly expanded its operations. Today, the enterprise produces more than 2 million square meters of carpets and over 5.6 thousand tons of polypropylene yarn annually.

The company currently employs more than 240 people. Comfortable working conditions have been created for employees, including free transportation and meal services.

The company’s products are in demand not only in the domestic market but also abroad. A substantial share of its output is exported to Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. This demonstrates the company’s growing export capacity and increasing competitiveness in international markets.

Another notable feature of YEC GILAM is its commitment to energy-efficient technologies. In particular, the company has installed solar panels with a capacity of 3.2 MW, helping to reduce production costs and improve energy efficiency.

Projects supported by Uzsanoatqurilishbank play an important role in fostering entrepreneurship, creating new jobs, increasing export volumes, and strengthening the economic potential of the regions.
