Supporting youth entrepreneurship, increasing the engagement of young people in economic processes, and stimulating startups and innovative projects are among the key priorities set by the President of the Republic for the national banking system.

In line with these objectives, a significant agreement was reached during the 34th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the international business forum, held on May 13–15 this year in London, United Kingdom.

Specifically, a $25 million agreement was signed between Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank JSCB and the EBRD under the “Youth in Business” programme.

The allocated financial resources will be directed towards providing financing in the national currency to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) led by entrepreneurs under the age of 35. This initiative aims to support startups, innovative ideas, and investment projects, thereby unlocking the entrepreneurial potential of the youth and promoting employment.

In addition, the bank’s clients will benefit from technical and advisory support in areas such as business planning and strategic management through the EBRD’s “Advisory for Small Businesses” programme.

It is worth noting that the EBRD is gradually implementing its “Youth in Business in Central Asia” programme, which is focused on fostering youth entrepreneurship across the region.

By participating in such international initiatives, Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank JSCB reaffirms its commitment to systematically supporting the youth of Uzbekistan, creating broad opportunities for them to launch and grow their own businesses.
